News and Announcements
Interested in umpiring or have thought about it before now?
All players 11 years old or older are eligible to train.
We have been awaiting the snow clearing to do our umpire clinics outside. It appears that may be delayed! so we will hold the clinics indoors in the Little League batting cage as follows:
Wed Mar 13th 630-800pm
Thurs Mar 14 630-800
Saturday mar 16 10:30-12pm
Please send an email to register to Umpire in Chief Marc Reyes at email@example.com Marc will be conducting the clinics with assistance from District umpires.
We invite all parents and volunteers interested in coaching this upcoming season to attend our coaching workshops. Everyone is sure to benefit from these sessions. Whalley Little League is hosting these sessions to benefit those who are new to baseball or have a few seasons under your belt and would like to continue developing their coaching skills.
The workshops will be held at Whalley Athletic Park on:
Saturday, March 9th – 1:00 pm thru 3:30 pm
Saturday, March 30th – 9:00 am thru 11:30 am
Each session will include both theory and practical components to assist you in teaching proper mechanics, running an efficient practice and proper usage of our facilities.
We recommend that volunteers complete the NCCP Online Initiation course prior to the first session (not mandatory). Upon completion, registration fees will be reimbursed by the league.
Volunteers who attend both sessions and sign up to coach will receive a $25 concession voucher.
Our new boundaries now include Clayton Heights and Cloverdale.
Calling all 7 and 8 years olds!
The Rookie Division is having their evaluations Sunday March 10th!!!
SUNDAY MARCH 10th, 2019
7/8s Last Names A-L 10:00am – 11:30am
7/8s Last Names M-Z 11:45am – 1:15pm
The Rookie division is primarily an 8 year old league but we understand that some of our 7 year old’s are ready for the challenge. Please check the age chart on the WLL website to confirm.
In this division, we use the mechanical pitching arms, the base paths are the same and we still focus on fun as we do in the Mini’s, but we will concentrate on the fundamentals of the game and the rules which are important to the next level. The competition level is higher and you should expect to be at the park for 2 to 3 games a week along with 1 or 2 practices.
Any Parents interested in Managing and Coaching please let us know.
Outstanding Payments & Volunteer Cheques can be dropped of when checking into Evals.
Looking forward to meeting you all next Sunday March 10th! Rain or Shine. Gloves, Jocks/Jills, Cleats and Runners.
Any questions please feel free to reach out to me.
