When does the season start / end?
Schedules have not been made yet, but plan on early April for most divisions. The season ends anywhere from mid to late June. All-star teams will be selected shortly after the regular season ends and these teams may play into late summer.
Where are the games played?
All divisions, except for the traveling teams, play at the Whalley Athletic Park and/or Moffatt Park.
What days do they play?
Be prepared to play any day, Sunday thru Saturday, game times will vary.
When are Opening Day / Closing Day Ceremonies?
The Opening Day Ceremony is scheduled for April 10, 2010. Closing Day Ceremony is scheduled for June 13, 2010.
What equipment does my child need?
A baseball glove, gray baseball pants, athletic protection and baseball cleats for all players. For Mini Divisions, runners or soccer cleats are fine. If your child has his or her own batting helmet or catcher’s equipment, they must meet standards set out by Little League Canada. Contact your division Player Agent if in doubt.
What team will my child play on?
All registered players will be placed on a team. In the Mini Division there are no evaluations, the Player Agent places players on teams. The Managers and Coaches draft the 8 year old, Major, Minor, Junior and Senior players to teams for those divisions.
When should I expect to hear from my child’s coach/manager?
The older divisions usually get started a couple of weeks before the younger divisions. Every player should be contacted by the end of March with information as to what team he/she has been allocated or drafted to. If you have not been informed by the first week of April, please contact your division Player Agent.
How will I know if the evaluations have been cancelled?
If the weather is questionable, we suggest you go to the ballpark. Every effort is made to keep the evaluations as scheduled. If the weekend is a total loss due to the weather, the schedule moves to the following weekend, same times. If in doubt, show up at the park or check the Whalley Little League website.
Whalley Little League Annual Dance
A dance will be held in June. The date has not been chosen yet. Look for more information at the Concession stand or on the Whalley website regarding ticket sales. Any donations of door prizes would be greatly appreciated. Contact TBA.
Batathon
Whalley will be holding its Annual Batathon event in May 2010 for the Challenger and the Mini to Major Divisions. This is a major fundraising event for Whalley Little League. More information to follow.
