Wow! With Closing Ceremonies upon us,the sunshine was out and the stands were starting to fill. What a final game in the Mini 8 division held on the Major Diamond between the Rockies(CJ McGallrd) and the Dodgers(Brent Kellogg)! This game was a see-saw battle from the first inning to the last. With the Rockies down 8-7 in the open inning, they were able to stop the Dodgers from insuring their lead. The Rockies needed 2 runs to win in their bottom half. With some clutch hitting they were able to tie the game 8-8. With the winning run on 3rd and 1 out, a sacrifice fly was all the Rockies needed to score the winning run. The final score the Rockies 9 Dodgers 8, in what was one of the most exciting finals in the Mini 8's level for sometime. I would like to say "Thank You" to both teams for making this a great final and to the umpires Jamie Tujfli and Kevin Green for umping this final game. Overall it was a well played year in the Mini 8's season this year. Thanks to all Managers/Coaches, teams and parent helpers for making this 2009 season one to remember. We here at Whalley Little League wish you all the best in your up coming years in baseball and have a safe summer, we will see you all next year.>
Sincerely>
Brad Bailey, Mini 8 Player Agent
